Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Full-time Career Opportunity


 Job Summary:

Reporting to the Administrative Manager and Clinic Physicians, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides primary care to the patients being seen in the Hugh Allen Clinic.


Qualifications:

   · Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

   · RPN designation

   · Current Basic CPR Certification


Special Skills:

   · Ability to relate professionally to patients

   · Excellent clinical assessment skills

   · Demonstrates initiative and ability to function both independently and as part     of a team

   · Strong organizational, self-management and communication skills

   · Sensitivity to cultural, religious, language and gender differences

   · Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in a fast-paced setting

   · Flexibility to adapt to a variety of clinical encounters 

   · Familiarity with electronic medical records


Key Responsibilities:

   · Directs patients into exam rooms.

   · Performs specific nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with medical directives or individual physician orders. Examples of these procedures are vital signs, ECGs, dressing changes and basic wound care, routine immunizations, allergy injections, ear syringing, suture removal, well baby check measurements, sterilization of equipment and calling patients with specific instructions or test results.

   · Assisting physicians in procedures/chaperone for sensitive exams.

   · Ordering of medical supplies.

   · Accountable for following safe working practices.

   · Works cooperatively with fellow team members to optimize patient care and clinic flow.

   · Interacts with patients in a compassionate and supportive way by acknowledging and respecting diverse cultural customs, beliefs, and individual differences.

   · Liaises between hospital and clinic services.

   · Resolves difficult conversations or situations in a professional manner with input from others as needed.

   · Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information at all times.

   · Other duties as assigned by Administrative Manager and Clinic Physicians. 


Start Date: ASAP/Open until filled


Wages and Benefits – $35.00 - $40.00/hour based on qualifications and experience
